Airport jobs, sized and timed properly.
DispatchMe sizes an airport job by passengers and bags, so a family of five with six cases gets a car that takes them. The flight number goes on the booking, and at London's main airports the driver is sent to the actual private hire pickup point, not the terminal's postcode.
Waiting time at the airport counts from landing plus an allowance, not from when the driver pulled up early.
The right car, by seats and bags.
Vehicle classes say how many passengers and bags they take: Standard up to 4 and 3 bags, XL up to 6 and 5, Minibus up to 8 and 8. You can change the figures to match your fleet.
- On your booking page the passenger enters people and bags, and DispatchMe picks the smallest class that fits
- In dispatch, a driver without enough seats, or enough room for the bags with that many aboard, is ruled out with the reason shown
- Add needs to a job, such as a wheelchair-accessible car, an electric car, pets or meet & greet
The pickup point, not the postcode.
DispatchMe knows where private hire cars meet and drop passengers at the main London airports. When a job starts or ends at one, the driver's navigation goes to that point, and the job shows a short note about it.
| Airport | Points |
|---|---|
| Heathrow | Terminals 2, 3, 4 and 5 |
| Gatwick | North and South Terminals |
| Stansted, Luton, London City, Southend | One pickup and one drop-off point each |
If a booking says Heathrow or Gatwick without a terminal, the note tells the driver to confirm it with the passenger first.
How an airport booking runs.
- 1
The booking comes in
From your booking page, the office or an imported list. Airport trips ask for a flight number, and online passengers choose 30 to 120 minutes after landing. - 2
The job is sized
Passengers and bags decide the class. Drivers whose car can't take them aren't suggested. - 3
The driver heads to the point
Navigation in their own maps app goes to the airport's pickup point, with the note on the job. - 4
Waiting is counted fairly
With an arrival time on the booking, the meter starts at landing plus the allowance. Waiting past your free minutes goes on the fare.
What it doesn't do yet.
Questions offices ask
Does DispatchMe track flights live?
Not as standard. The flight number goes on the booking, and passengers booking online choose how long after landing they want the car. Live flight status is not switched on for offices today.
How does it pick the size of car?
From the passengers and the bags. On your booking page the passenger doesn't choose a car: DispatchMe picks the smallest class that takes everyone and their luggage. In dispatch, a driver whose car hasn't the seats or the boot space is ruled out.
Which airports have pickup points built in?
Heathrow Terminals 2 to 5, Gatwick North and South, Stansted, Luton, London City and Southend. The driver's navigation goes to the pickup or drop-off point and the job shows the note for it.
When does waiting time start at an airport?
If the booking has the flight's arrival time, the waiting meter starts at landing plus the allowance (60 minutes unless you change it), or when the driver arrives if that is later. Without an arrival time it starts when the driver arrives.
